Stephen J. Ryan

Steve was born in 1952 and grew up in Phoenix. After earning a livelihood the hard way as a professional musician, Steve went to college at the ripe old age of thirty-two, completed his undergraduate education with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University and his Juris Doctor from Nebraska.  Upon passing the Arizona Bar in 1991, Steve worked for a local Sedona firm and primarily handled that firm’s contract with the City of Sedona for its prosecution and code enforcement services. During that time, Steve attended and completed the prestigious Arizona College of Trial Advocacy. In the course of his court representation for the City of Sedona, Steve gained significant trial experience and conducted DUI and testimony training for the Sedona Police Department.

In 1996, Steve began his five year tenure as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Flagstaff. His work consisted almost entirely of misdemeanor prosecution and code enforcement.  In 2001, Steve moved to the San Diego area to start and operate a family real estate development corporation where he gained valuable experience as the corporate CFO in the areas of management, cost efficiency, and productivity.  Ultimately, the call of the Verde Valley brought Steve back to Arizona. He worked for a busy domestic relations practitioner for five years before joining Jim Bradley and our firm in 2010. Steve’s private practice emphasizes litigation and estate planning.  Steve enjoys the outdoors, photography, music, and people.
